Local Restaurants
The White House
Kalami
Traditional Greek dishes, made with fresh ingredients. Seafood is the house specialty with their own fishing boat bringing in fresh produce every day.
Nikolas Taverna Agni Bay
Agni Bay
Specialising in fresh traditional Greek cuisine. Crazy Greek night on Thursdays for which booking is essential. If you call to book a table Yorgos can pick you up from the jetty and drop you back afterward. Alternatively go down to Yialiskari Bay and walk round to Agni on the coastal path. If you walk across the rocks at the end of the bay you will see the path at the top of the rocks just round the headland.
Agni Taverna
Agni Bay
Agni Taverna specialising in Greek fish dishes. The Agni Taverna also has a free boat taxi service. If you call for a table they can pick up and drop off on the jetty.
Taverna Kouloura
Kouloura
The only taverna in the bay of Kouloura and is our favourite for lunch! Nestling to the side of the beautiful 15th century house at Kouloura, set against the quaint little harbour of Kouloura which featured in “The Durrells” TV series, this little fish taverna offers a quintessentially Corfiot lunch experience: laid back, friendly service and good food especially the sardines and fried courgettes.
Although accessible by road from Kalami, the moderately adventurous arrive by boat and moor up against on the two jetties. Best to book during July and August given the small number of covers. Kouloura is not marked on many maps, but it is to the north of Kalami. If you drive or walk through Kalami going north you come to a very bumpy section of road which turns sharp left. The road divides round the corner and Kouloura is the lower of the two roads.
Taverna Kerasia
Kerasia
This old fish taverna sits at the end of white pebbled Kerasia Bay on the corner of one of the lovely ‘Rothschild’ headlands; the owner Pedro offers friendly service and reasonable food; ask to see the day’s fish catch. Enjoy the local spectator sport of inebriated holidaymakers trying to embark on their rental boats on the jetty. As participants, it can also be fun. The journey by road involves a hot 15-minute drive via St Stephano, by sea a refreshing 5 minutes.
Glyfa Taverna
Nissaki
Glyfa Taverna is a family-run Greek taverna that serves traditional homemade recipes, delicious meze and of course the catch of the day. Best to go by boat down the coast past Agni. Book a table.
